Product details

UK style fish tail end for Armco-style corrugated crash barrier, hot dip galvanised as standard. It closes off a run with a tapered, blunt and snag free finish.

A barrier run has to stop somewhere, and a cut beam end leaves an exposed edge at bumper and shin height. The fish tail tapers the last section down and turns the edge away, so the end of the run is blunt rather than sharp. It is the standard UK terminal detail for off road barrier and bolts on in place of the last beam.

Key features

  • UK style profile — the tapered fish tail used on off road Armco barrier in this country, not the US flared pattern.
  • Hot dip galvanised as standard, like the rest of our crash barrier range, so the most exposed part of the run is not the first to corrode.
  • Powder coating available in any RAL colour at extra cost, for sites that need the barrier to match a colour scheme.
  • Bolts straight on using the same posts and lap bolts as our crash barrier beams, with no drilling or adaptors.

Where they are used

Car parks, loading bays, factory and warehouse floors, depot compounds and industrial estates — anywhere a run of corrugated barrier ends in the open rather than against a wall or a corner, and pedestrians or vehicles pass close to it.

What else you will need

Ends are a component, not a kit. A complete run also takes crash barrier beams (3504mm overall, 3200mm effective when overlapped), H posts or Z posts in dig in or bolt down, corners where the run changes direction, plus post bolts and lap bolts. See the full crash barrier range.

Common questions

Fish tail or pedestrian end? The fish tail is the standard taper for a run that ends in traffic space. A pedestrian end wraps the end back on itself and is the better choice where people walk directly past the terminal.

Do I need one at both ends? Only where the run stops in the open. Where it finishes hard against a wall, a column or a corner, there is no exposed edge to close off.
