W-section pale
A palisade pale pressed into a W-shaped profile. The extra folds make it stiffer than D-section, and it takes its own W-section bolts.
Also called: w section, w section pale, w profile pale
A W section pale is pressed into a W-shaped profile down its length. The folds are structural: folded steel is considerably stiffer than flat steel, which is why a 2mm W section pale outperforms a thicker flat one.
It is the more industrial-looking of the two profiles and the more common specification on yards, compounds and utilities. Ours are galvanised as standard, at 2mm nominal thickness, in every height from 1.2m to 3.0m.
