Spiked collars that spin on a 20mm bar above a wall or fence, so a climber finds nothing that stays still. Deters without being designed to injure.

Rotating spikes are our own product, designed and made at AA Fencing. Spiked steel collars thread onto a 20mm round bar mounted above the fence or wall; put weight on them and they rotate, so there is nothing for a hand or a foot to pull against.
The reason they exist is liability. Razor wire, glass and impaling spikes all deter by threatening injury, which is exactly what makes them a problem on any boundary the public can reach. Rotating spikes defeat a climber mechanically instead — they will not cut someone walking past, and they will not cut a child who touches them.
How they are supplied
Sets are made to order in 2.75m sections, each with 18 spikes, the 20mm round bar and a 50x50x5 galvanised angle bracket. The bracket is built to suit the mounting — wall, roof edge, palisade or mesh — so tell us where it is going. Individual collars are available for extending an existing run; each stands 340mm overall on a 150mm square collar.

Frequently asked questions
- Are rotating spikes better than razor wire?
For any boundary the public can reach, yes — they deter climbing by removing anything to grip rather than by cutting, so they do not create the injury risk that puts an occupier in breach of their duty of care. For a secure compound with no public access, razor wire remains the stronger deterrent.
- What do rotating spikes fit onto?
Anything with something to bolt a bracket to — a wall coping, a roof edge, palisade fencing or mesh. Sets are made to order in 2.75m sections and the 50x50x5 galvanised angle bracket is built to suit the mounting you specify.
