Product details
A long handled fencers graft, also called a rabbiting spade, made by Silverline. It cuts a narrow, deep post hole with much less digging than an ordinary spade.
A graft is the spade fence contractors actually use. The blade is long and narrow rather than wide and flat, so it cuts straight down and lifts a tight core out of the hole instead of opening up a crater you then have to fill with concrete.
Key features
- Narrow blade — a tighter hole means less spoil to clear and less post mix to fill it.
- Long handle — reach and leverage for deep holes without kneeling in the mud.
- Made by Silverline, a name the trade knows.
- 3kg — substantial enough to bite into hard ground, light enough to swing all day.
Who it is for
Fencing contractors and groundworkers digging post holes by the dozen, smallholders and farmers putting in stock fencing, and anyone setting a run of posts by hand where a mini digger cannot get to or is not worth the hire.
What else you might need
Post mix to set the posts once the holes are dug, and the posts themselves: concrete fence posts, timber posts, steel palisade posts and railway sleeper posts.
