A bolt down post is only as good as its fixing. These anchor bolts are what hold a base plated post to the slab, and the size you need depends on the post, the load on it and the depth and condition of the concrete underneath.

Choosing a size

As a general rule, taller and heavier posts want a bigger diameter and a longer embedment. Either way the fixing is your responsibility on site: check the slab is sound, thick enough and free of cracks or edges close to the hole.
