Roll top mesh
Mesh panels finished with a curled tube along the top and bottom edge. The roll stiffens the panel and removes the cut wire ends, so it suits sports and play areas.
Also called: roll top fencing, rolled top mesh, roll top
Roll top mesh is a rigid mesh panel with the top and bottom edges curled into a tube. The curl does two jobs at once: it removes the cut wire ends, and it acts as a structural member that stiffens the edge of the panel.
That is why it is the standard specification for sports pitches, MUGAs, play areas and anywhere the fence is at hand height rather than three metres away. There is no sharp edge to reach, the panel holds its line under daily contact, and a ball comes off it predictably.
Ours is 4.5mm pre-galvanised and powder coated wire on 3m panels, stocked at 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m high.
